Overview

SAS130 offers either a flush or tegular finish metal pan ceiling, depending on aesthetic preference. Lay-in metal pan tiles are quick to mount and dismount offering simple access to the ceiling void. The suspended ceiling system integrates seamlessly with both partitioning and signage for hassle free installations.

System Weight

  • 8mm deep tiles – 5Kg/m2 (approximate weight based on 600 x 600mm tile)
  • 16mm deep tiles – 7.5Kg/m2 (approximate weight based on 600 x 600mm tile)
  • 19mm deep tiles – 10.75Kg/m2 (approximate weight based on 600 x 600mm tile)

Standard Tile Shape

  • Square – out-turned flanges (laid onto exposed grid system)

Perforation

  • SAS130 tiles can be supplied with any standard SAS perforation pattern.
  • 1522 is a popular pattern that is available as a stock item from the factory.


Acoustic Treatment

  • Acoustic pad as standard

(16mm, 19mm or 8mm deep, 80Kg density mineral fibre pad with black tissue face, foil back and sides).

Integration

Tiles can be formed with apertures during manufacturing for integration with lighting and other services.

Alugrid-Q sections can be supplied with “bird’s mouth” mitres on one side only. These form a flush abutment to lighting and other services resting directly on the grid. These sections are suitable for ceilings where the services are of a larger modular size than the ceiling tiles.


Additional Loads

A lightweight* system can support additional loads up to 3Kg. This is based on a point or uniformly distributed load over 0.36m2, positioned a minimum of 1000mm apart. This should be considered for lightweight installations only.

For loads greater than 3Kg, we would recommend using an independent proprietary grid.

*Lightweight Installations

Lightweight meaning base system only such as fleece or pad tile backing. Where a ceiling supports the load of services or for acoustically upgraded systems, Emac hanger centres should be installed at 1200mm centres. Hanger centres should always be considered when applying additional loads.


Partitioning & Signage Integration

The continuous linear thread form allows the easy location and relocation of partition heads by means of an M6 bolt. The design of Alugrid-Q means this can happen repeatedly without causing damage. This same feature also allows for hanging signs and other lightweight features.



Airtightness

SAS130 can be designed using SAS Alugrid-P Cleanseal, to form an airtight barrier between the grid and metal pan tile. This stops unwanted dirt getting in behind the tile, or falling through the tile. This can be a highly desirable trait in labs and datacentre applications.
