Urban Taskforce Australia recently honoured 5 Martin Place with their prestigious ‘Development Excellence Award for Urban Renewal’.

Having reaped a wealth of awards already, the project featuring SAS ceilings continues to achieve architectural acclaim. This most recent accolade specifically recognises development projects for best accomplishing the needs of its clients, environment, business and community.

The iconic ‘Money Box’ building is recognised as a project of historic and architectural importance to the city. It was imperative that the redevelopment retained its character whilst delivering a new commercial relevance to the scheme.

The regeneration of the building included restoring the original, 'commercially palatial' environment to the heritage site.

SAS International supplied a range of systems to 5 Martin Place, many with unusual perforations and finishes enhancing the urban regeneration scheme.

Once occupied by the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, the 'Money Box Building' originally opened in 1916 and today attracts high calibre clients such as Challenger, Ashurst and WeWork.
